As soon as I saw this stunning silk slip dress from Alix NYC I was so inspired to create this look. I feel like a silk slip dress is such a classic yet stunning piece that makes a statement. These soft melon watercolor tones blend together to make the perfect sunset tones. I’m really impressed with the dress quality and it is my first purchase from this brand but I will definitely have to keep it on my radar for the future. I am wearing a size XS. The straps might be a little long on me but this dress would definitely be worth it to invest in some alterations. To shoot these photos we waited till the perfect time and day and went to this beautiful viewpoint of the city. The sunset tones compliment the entire look like it was meant to be. A silk slip dress is stunning on its own but I also love to pair it with a fitted top like this cozy sweater to break up the look. It helps accentuate the figure while still showing off the skirt. Also if it gets a little chilly in the evening or you want to take a most modest approach, a cardigan or light sweater is a perfect touch to complete the look. This bag was styled for this look and is called the Chanel Sunset by the Sea in Pink. To finish off the look I paired simple PVC slides called Just Nothing by Christian Louboutin to keep the focus on the dress. They are such a comfy pair of heels for summer! These shoes fit like standard louboutins so go a half size up from your usual. I wear a 37.5 and my usual size is 37 in other brands. Another look styled with the same sweater can be seen here. This sweater is very versatile and I have worn it throughout the seasons with many different looks. I got it on sale for black Friday last year and it is called the Derek Lam 10 Crosby
Puff-Sleeve Alpaca Sweater. Unfortunately I think it is sold out now but it’s a basic puff sleeved sweater with a little crop so I will link similar options.
