With a cool breeze in the air, the season is slowly taking baby steps towards fall and I couldn’t be more excited.
There is something about crackling yellow leaves, dream-like evenings, and curling up cozily by the fireplace with a cup of hot coffee. In terms of fall fashion, nothing compares to cute cardigans and all the layering options. With everything around me turning the color of gleaming sunset, I love playing with lighter, more neutral colors to create a contrast with my surroundings. Today’s post is about the first of many fall looks I will create throughout the new season. This one features my favorite crystal button cardigan. Unfortunately I believe the exact one is sold out but you can easily swap out the buttons on a similar cardigan like this.
Some might argue that the cooler season is all about dark and deep colors. And I don’t fight it. Pantone Color Institute also predicted a robust color palette of red, crimson, orange, pine green, and more for fall/winter 2020-21. But to my delight, squeezed at the bottom were also a couple of neutrals like off-white, tan, and sleet colors. At the end of the day, it’s all about personal choices and what makes it tick for you. I LOVE neutrals in any season. For me, neutrals are a foolproof and easiest way to looking effortlessly elegant. And so, many of my fall outfits are going to be incorporating lighter colors.
I got this crystal button cardigan a while back to grace my winter wardrobe and now seemed the perfect time to take it out. The ivory color gives me a nice canvas to build my look upon. Also, the soft woolen material feels super cozy and gives just the right amount of warmth. Not too little. Not too much. It’s ideal for the fall. Above all, the crystal buttons transform this simple cardigan into a dressier fall piece which I absolutely love.
I paired the cardigan with beige jeans to create a well-balanced contrast. The entire look, when put together, makes me stand out against the gorgeous, rich-colored background which is exactly what I have in mind when dressing up for fall. Lastly, I slipped into my classic pair of while pumps and completed the look with my beige Chanel mini bag. Some loose curls and I was all ready to greet my day-1 of fall 2020.
There is no such as too many outfit inspiration. If you live by the same notion, stay tuned as I style many more easy to re-create fall outfits for you. This crystal button cardigan might even make a comeback, who knows?
