It’s officially the season of all things classic and fabulous. Think warm colors, oversized coats, trendy turtlenecks, chunky scarves, (and everyone holding a Starbucks pumpkin spice latte).

Among all the pretty patterns in action, one has maintained a distinguished reputation for decades and still does. Plaid. Peppy and perfect, plaid had its big fashion moment 25 years ago when Cher Horowitz strutted the school halls dressed in iconic plaid outfits in Clueless. I mean, who wasn’t obsessed with her plaid blazers and mini skirts? Plaid has been everywhere ever since. Plaid coats. Plaid bags. Plaid shoes. It’s everywhere and honestly, I’m not complaining.

To celebrate this ’90s craze, I got myself this plaid top. If you’ve been following me, I love statement pieces that offer a sleek and slimming effect. And that’s also a reason why I was immediately in love with this one. The long sleeves and turtleneck make you look smart and sophisticated. The slim fit, however, doesn’t mean that you have to squeeze your way through it. There’s a zipper closure at the back that ensures you can comfortably slip it on and off.

I paired the plaid top with Anine Bing Max Pants in black color. These pants are also super sleek and feature a split hem. Split hem trousers and pants are also having a big moment on the fashion scene. Because why should gowns and dresses have all the fun? Short hems not only look chic and trendy but also allow your skin to breathe. The best part about these pants is that they can easily be styled in so many ways. Wear them with sneakers, sandals, heels, or pumps. They will look gorgeous every time. I have already used them to create another powerful look with Anine Bing Blazer.

And for the bag, none would’ve been better than the Saint Laurent’s Kate Medium. This little beauty is the definition of classy. With its ritzy appeal, Kate Medium enjoys a lofty position among my list of most-loved bags. Thanks to its matte calfskin leather and organic cotton lining. The gold-toned metal hardware goes beautifully with the black grained look. Since this was a very chic and slender outfit, I thought it best to finish up with a shoulder-strap bag rather than a top handle one. The bag has a magnetic snap closure that opens up to one slip pocket.

I put on a pair of pumps and they instantly elevated the whole black and white fall look. Isn’t it amazing how a pair of shoes can make such a huge difference?

I have been wanting to try this plaid top for so long and the wait has paid off. The outfit turned out as lovely as I had envisioned it. I’m so excited for more fall looks and can’t wait to share them with you.
