Do I love bags more than any other fashion accessory? Yes. Do I keep succumbing to new designs even when my closet is already brimming? Absolutely yes. Because for ladies, there is no such thing as too many bags.
While I have a special place in my heart for crossbody bags, some days totally call for totes. Tote bags are super versatile thanks to their savoir-faire nature. No matter where you are going, a stylish tote bag can be the statement piece to elevate the simplest of outfits.
If I’m honest, I don’t style many tote bags but when I saw Dior Book Tote bags designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, I was an instant fan. The whole collection has totes in different themes, sizes, patterns, and colors. The ones that stole my heart were the Toile de Jouy (featured in this blog) and the Houndstooth Embroidery Tote bags. And I was lucky to style them both.
Today we’re talking about the latter. The Dior Tote Bag with black and beige houndstooth embroidery. Let me begin by saying how gorgeous this tote bag is. Houndstooth is a classic pattern that pretty much goes with everything. Plus, the colors beige and black are so universal, they’d complement most of your wardrobe staples. Not only complement but take your styling game up several notches.
The Dior Book Tote doesn’t disappoint in the functionality department either. It has the perfect boxy shape with depth to hold ALL of your essentials. Your phone, your wallet, your makeup, and even your cardigan. It would hold it ALL which makes it a perfect travel bag too. Its roomy interior is one of the reasons I’d totally recommend it to anyone who loves totes.
The best part is that Dior Book Tote can go far beyond your vacation destination. You can take it to work or brunches or dates and it will beautifully fit every situation. It screams professional and party at the same time. You can easily carry it over the shoulder or on your arm.
The canvas material is also quite thick and sturdy. It’s a bag that I can confidently say is well-crafted. While some do complain about having a couple of loose threads here and there, I found no huge problems with mine. From experience, however, I have noticed that frequent use does take a toll on bag handles. So, I wrapped a black skinny silk scarf around the handles for extra protection. It looks cute and protects them against wear and tear and also natural oils of skin that could make the canvas dirty.
I styled it with a simple all black outfit but the statement bag took the look from basic to beautifully head-turning. The Dior Book Tote will surely be making more appearances on my feed styled with different outfits. Next time with a beige dress perhaps?
