Olive Silk Shirt Dress with the Isabel Marant Duerto Boots

The moment leaves start turning golden, out come the fall colors. The joyful shades of yellows and oranges, the classic maroons, the dreamy blues, and the warm browns. The color palette is stunning and striking. The runways are a joy to watch. But one color that I feel is left under-appreciated and under-used is olive green. It’s such a refreshing and calming color. Especially if you feel overwhelmed with deeper colors, olive green is a perfect choice. Did you know it also symbolizes peace and harmony? All the more reason to wear it. 

Olive green is one of my favorite colors for fall (these olive cargo pants have made it to my feed a number of times). So, this season, I had to upgrade my collection with more of this refreshing color. I have been gravitating towards button-down dresses for a while and this olive silk shirt dress from Intermix caught my eye right away. It’s a beautiful silk button-down mini dress with a waist-tie for a cinched-in silhouette. The front flap pockets give you that signature safari vibe. The fabric feels super soft and comfy. My favorite thing about this dress is how effortlessly it can be styled. Button it up, pair it with boots and you’re ready to go. An olive silk shirt dress is surprisingly versatile and I’ve worn it in the summer as well with nude colored sandals.

My choice of footwear was the Isabel Marant Duerto Boots. These are 100% suede boots with a leather lining so naturally, they’re incredibly warm and cozy. The western-style paneling has that rodeo appeal that every country girl would love. The mid-calf height, pointed heel, and block heel further adds to this pair’s pizzazz. This is, however, not my first purchase from the designer brand. Isabel Marant is a name that I have always trusted. You can spend your money with your eyes closed and know what you’re getting is going to be amazing and last long. I also have these gorgeous Denvee Boots from Isabel Marant that I absolutely love. 

The LV Palm Springs mini backpack felt like the perfect piece to finish the look with. These little retro rucksacks first came out in the ‘90s and are now trending once again. The mini backpack is practical, durable, easy to carry, and totally statement-making. My favorite aspect is the versatility. You can either wear it cross-body by adjusting the straps or remove the straps and carry it by the top handle. I prefer the latter. It may look small but you’d be surprised how much you can fit inside it.

Sweaters are great, but you know what’s even greater? Sweater dresses. There’s something comforting and reassuring about having a one-piece wonder in your wardrobe for the busy winter days. Because we all know how time-consuming (sometimes frustrating) mixing and matching an outfit can be when you are on the go. Sweater dresses are the embodiment of ‘no pants, no worries’, and I will love them forever and always. Especially sweater dresses with boots.

They’ve been stealing the spotlight for quite some time, and I am OBSESSED with them. So naturally, my wardrobe saw sweater dresses more than anything this season. If you are wondering why so many? The answer is the same as to why we have so many jeans. The world of sweater dresses is versatile and wonderful. Some sweater dresses are ribbed knitted, while some are chunky turtlenecks. Some have a front slit to keep things interesting, while some almost reach the floor. Some are sleeveless, while some have cutout full sleeves. No matter the style, they all look gorgeous.

Among my many other proud sweater dress purchases, this tan colored one is my favorite. Bought from the brand Ann Taylor, it’s a beautiful ribbed knitted dress with a round neck and long puffy sleeves. Even with the head-to-toe simplicity that it offers, this dress has the oomph to fit any mood or occasion. With minimal accessories, it’s best for brunch. Add some statement earrings to the look and you’re ready for a sophisticated night out. The fabric is super soft and cozy. Despite being oversized, it looks incredibly cute on its own. But I added a belt cinch in the waist for a more polished look. It also has small slits on either side which I also like.

Sweater dresses look as gorgeous with heels as they do with boots. For this look, I chose tall black suede boots with heels (the best of both worlds). Tall boots keep the legs warm and look absolutely classy. Suede gives off a very matte and sophisticated look enhancing the sweater dress’ beauty. The black color also goes really well with the tan sweater dress.

I styled this cute look with Saint Laurent Cassandra Chain Bag. In other words, my latest obsession. It features an envelope-shaped flap highlighted with a stitched V line. The design is elegant and timeless complete with the iconic YSL logo crafted just below the flap. The bronze-metal double curb chain adds to the feminine touch, making it nothing short of a masterpiece. I have to say, this sweater dress with boots look turned out to be one of my top favorites this winter.

What comes to your mind when you think of summer? Some might give you the obvious (and in my opinion, the pessimistic) answer. Heat and humidity. But if you ask a staunch nature lover like me, summer means beach days, resort retreats, double rainbows, and a chance to chase butterflies. Basically, a long, warm handshake with nature. But the thing that I look forward to the most each season is frolicking in flower fields. 

Think rolling carpets of bright sunflowers and neverending rows of colorful tulips, happily swaying under the golden sun. It’s magical to just think about these tiny patches of heaven on earth. 

My first stop this season was Van Lierop Park. It’s quite a recent addition to the city parks and a stunning one at that. You will find pathways lined with wildflowers, peaceful trails, views of Mount Rainier, and a field of gorgeous purple lupines stretching as far as the eye can see. There’s also a walking trail around the field itself that you can use while taking in the picturesque views. 

Van Lierop Park was actually formerly Van Lierop Bulb Farm. The city purchased the land to build something that everyone in the community can enjoy. With families, bikers, and other trail users already coming in flocks, suffice to say, the city plan was a success. 

The flowers are in full bloom in June so that’s the perfect time to visit. For Van Lierop Park, I wanted to wear something that makes me feel comfortable, lets me enjoy the gentle breeze AND helps me live that fairy tale moment among the flowers. This one-shoulder white dress from Chicwish checked all the boxes. It features an exaggerated bow on the single shoulder and a side slit at the hem. It’s comfy, elegant, and charming even with its simplistic beauty. 

Just like Van Lierop Park is the ideal location for your pre-wedding or bridal shower photoshoots, this dress is also perfect for such events. Plus, white truly stands out against the purple lupine field. So, your photos are bound to come out stunning. Dresses are an easy way to put together a whole look.

While Van Lierop Park will stay in my top favorites, I still have more flower fields and farms on the list to visit this summer. Many more walks among the blooms, basking in nature’s glory.

Another day, another flower field. I don’t know about you. But for me, visiting flower farms and bathing in all the beauty is peak summer activity. Especially after being confined in our homes for so long, immersing in nature, witnessing vibrant fresh blooms, and feeling the breeze while you do that can be really cathartic. 

This season, I have been on a mission to discover flower destinations around me. And in my quest, I stumbled upon the beautiful Crescent Valley Lavender Farm that’s actually just opened up this year. The little gem is tucked away in a quiet corner in Gig Harbor, Washington State. Thrilled would be an understatement of what I feel to have this beauty so close to home. 

Crescent Valley Lavender Farm was established by a lovely couple Glenn and Diana Liebner and their daughter in 2015. You know how they say — beauty becomes beautiful when it’s shared with others. So now in 2021, the kind owners decided to open the farm to the public, and I for one couldn’t be happier. June is when lavender is in full bloom and that’s when the grand opening was held.  

Sadly, as of August 1st, 2021, the farm has been closed for the season. But when you pay a visit next season, 7 different varieties of lavender will be waiting for you. From Royal Velvet to White lavender, the farm is filled with rows of refreshing goodness. A burst of white, lilac, and violet-blues with a little gazebo in the middle. Some varieties such as Grosso are used to extract oils that we all love so much. Some such as Royal Velvet can be used for culinary purposes. While others like Folgate and Melissa are richer in color, sweetly fragrant, and used in potpourris after drying.

The best part about Crescent Valley Lavender Farm is that they also offer you-cuts. You get to pick your own lavender that you could use to make bouquets, wreaths, or whatever you want. The farm provides you with scissors and a basket to give you that proper harvesting feel.

They have a gift shop at the farm too. So along with your own lavender clippings, you also have the option of bringing home lavender essential oils, bath bombs, lip balms, lotions, scrubs, and other personal care products. And as you can imagine, they smell like heaven. The only thing you have to be careful about when visiting the farm is buying the parking ticket in advance since they have limited parking space. 

For my visit, nothing seemed more fitting than a lilac maxi dress. It’s made of the softest, breathable material and features short ruffled sleeves. The backless design with a knot in the middle makes it even more interesting. To feed that farm-inspired look, I also carried a Pamela Munson Basket Petite Isla Bahia Bag. I love the woven corn husk material — a nod to sustainable fashion. The white leather handle and a knot on the front offers a nice contrast. The bag opens up to a fabric-lined interior which is roomy enough to store all your essentials, including those lavender clippings 🙂

Neutrals and bodycon dresses are a match made in heaven. Made popular by Kim Kardashian, bodycon dresses have gained the status of a wardrobe staple. If you aim to look glam, accentuate your curves, or make your beau fall in love with you all over again, a bodycon dress will do the trick. Even better if it’s in a neutral color. Because that gives you a nice canvas to build your look on. Add contrasting accessories and you’ll instantly feel like a diva. A ribbed knit midi dress is easy to style and can be the focus piece or accessorized around.

That’s exactly how this ribbed-knit midi bodycon dress made me feel. I got this sleek midi dress in nude color and I have to say it’s the perfect dress for warm summer evenings. Before you argue that ribbed knit is not a fabric you would want to wear in summer, let me clear that out first.    

Ribbed knit is made out of cotton and ribbing is the horizontal or vertical pattern that the cotton is knitted in. It actually has a really soft texture and excellent breathability. Plus, this midi dress is a light-knit piece and feels perfectly comfy in the warmer weather. It’s also a racerback dress so the design allows you to stay cool. I also felt that this shade of nude really complemented my complexion. Brought out my eyes and made me look radiant. 

For the shoes, I went with Just Nothing transparent heels by Christian Louboutin. Transparent heels, as you know, have been making it big on the fashion scene for the past few seasons. Why? They are super easy to style and go with almost any outfit. These modern-day versions of Cinderella’s glass slippers let you show off your fresh pedi while assuming an understated profile.  

Christian Louboutin’s Just Nothing transparent heels reflect a minimalist style but still look sleek and sophisticated with their white soles, signature red bottom, and 85mm heels. The two transparent straps keep your foot comfy and offer a firmness in your stride.

Now this turned out to be the look I am proud of. It’s the perfect summer day look that’s both sophisticated and sizzling. The sleek silhouette of the ribbed knit midi dress made me look taller and (not to exaggerate) runway-ready. 

For the bag, I wouldn’t have gone for anything other than the Chanel 19 flap bag in beige. The diamond-quilted lambskin leather is just exquisite and the beautiful Chanel CC monogram on the flap adds to its beauty. Its gold chain handle and the leather-threaded gradient gold to ruthenium chain shoulder strap offered the perfect amount of bling to this neutral outfit.

This past winter, I have been obsessed with sweater dresses. If you are a fan of no-fuss fashion, you would understand why. There are days when you just want to spend more time having fun and less time assembling an outfit. A sweater dress is an excellent option for one of those days. It’s not only super easy to style but it also keeps you feeling cozy and looking cute. Now, winter has rolled into spring but my love for sweater dresses is still in full bloom. This time, however, I switched things up a little and got myself a hoodie dress from rue21.

It’s like a sweater dress but with a drawstring hoodie. So you get an elegant look and a sporty vibe at the same time. And here’s what I love about brands like rue21. You get to look like a million bucks without spending too much. There are so many affordable options with a head-turning appeal that I never get off the brand’s website without checking out a dress or two. Did I mention a plus size version of the hoodie dress is also available with them?

Coming back to the hoodie dress – since I’m always inclined to pastels, I went with a refreshing light blue color. It’s a soft brushed ribbed knit style that’s wonderful against the skin and feels quite comfy for spring. While the midi length and long sleeves add an element of sophistication, there’s a small slit in the back to spice things up. 

Now, this hoodie dress allows you to be both dressy and casual. I styled it both ways and loved the results. It’s actually quite surprising how transforming different footwear options can be. For the first look, I went with a pair of sneakers from Golden Goose. This whole outfit turned out to be incredibly comfy and chic. If it’s a day out that involves a lot of walking or if you simply want to feel at ease, this look would be perfect.

For the second look, I chose white heeled booties and you can see how they elevated the whole look. The heeled booties instantly transformed the hoodie dress from casual to dressy. You could easily carry it to a birthday party or a date night and look stunning. Both the looks were equally cute so I can’t really decide which one I liked more. What I can decide, however, is that this hoodie dress is going to see me throughout the spring. Because it’s modest yet stylish. Sophisticated yet sporty. And I adore its color.

What’s more fun than florals? Cheetah print!!

Show me a girl that didn’t look good in cheetah print. No matter the occasion, a little cheetah print can take you from boring to bold. It’s quite easy to fall prey to the same outfit formula day in and day out. The same old jeans and top combination simply because it makes getting ready hassle-free. But have you noticed the style becoming so redundant that even the mirror screams for change? That’s where cheetah print comes in to switch things up.

This cheetah dress has a special place in my heart. Because if you look up close, the cheetah print is actually shaped like cute little hearts. Its playful print will bring out your wild side while still offering a sophisticated look. The long puff sleeves with broad cinched cuffs remind me of Victorian dresses and exude the same class. The ruffles at the hem are a cheerful addition to this gorgeous cheetah print mini dress. There’s also a printed waist tie for a gathered look. It’s an elegant day-to-night transition piece that’s surely going to turn heads.  

You are missing out if you are not investing in some cheetah dresses. Now, there are hundreds of different styles – from spaghetti strapped midis to bodycon dresses, but my personal favorite would always be long sleeved cheetah dresses. There’s something so charming about a long sleeved dress. You look incredibly polished without even trying. 

Contrary to what you might believe, styling a cheetah dress outfit is actually pretty easy. The dress itself will do most of the job for you. All you will need to do is choose footwear and accessories. I went for my Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots because if there is an equally glamorous contender against the cheetah print mini dress, it’s the high knee boots. While they are not as versatile as heels, they are definitely more stylish and sexy. They also help keep your legs warm to balance wearing a shorter dress. To finish the look, I went with Chanel flap bag in black and voila! Another killer cheetah dress outfit added to my credits.

My winter wardrobe feels incomplete without cute sweater dresses. A perfect transitional piece for the chilly weather, they have that go-anywhere potential that no other dress can have. Whoever invented them was a pure genius. Sweater dress outfits simply eliminate the trouble of figuring out which pants to match. They let you be dressy without having to slip into a skin-tight getup. They are cute, cozy, and easily the comfiest sartorial options out there. Now, I have had many this season, but this white sweater dress is my absolute favorite. To say that “I’m obsessed” would be an understatement.

The first thing about this white sweater dress that caught my attention was its long statement sleeves. The puff at the shoulder turns it into a very classy head-turning piece. If you follow my page, you’d know I love my tops and dresses with elaborate and stylish sleeves. Bishop, bell, butterfly, I love them all. These puff sleeves get a little more love because they come with a turtleneck. That’s double the sophistication and double the treat for me. Turtlenecks exude strength and style while being modern and modest at the same time. Plus, you don’t need a scarf. What’s not to love?

The white sweater dress offers a form-fitting silhouette so I didn’t have to wear a belt to cinch in the waist. It is almost like a comfortably relaxed bodycon dress. You can still add a belt if you want to make your sweater dress outfit interesting. A belt could also serve as a contrasting accessory. 

Sweater dresses are mostly worn with knee-high boots. Since it was already considerably long, I paired my sweater dress with ankle boots. This also helped the dress to stand out and be more in focus. Lastly, I completed the look with the Saint Laurent Monogram Matelasse Shoulder Bag in cream color. It features a structured envelope shape and a chevron pattern all over. Its grained matelasse leather with golden hardware is simply elegant and went so well with the dress. Besides, white and cream? That’s a color combination made in heaven.

If there is one no-fail holiday style option, it’s the classic and timeless Little Black Dress.

The holiday season sets in motion a big flurry of celebration. Invitations start pouring in and going out. You have places to be and parties to host. In the middle of pulling off the best dinner nights, you may not get the chance to spend hours putting together an outfit worthy of you. Thankfully, Coco Chanel took care of that back in the 1920s with the Little Black Dress she popularized.

LDB is one dress that’s super chic, versatile, and doesn’t take a decade to style. It’s perfect for a holiday party and if you ask me, sexier than any other option. It’s like a secret weapon to looking absolutely fabulous. I got mine quite a while back but only got to wear it this holiday season. And I am proud to report that it looked Drop.Dead.Gorgeous.

I love most little black dresses but this one received some extra love thanks to its stunning back. It has a knot style twist on the back making it even sexier than it already is. The length is just right and the fabric oh-so-soft.

Styling my Little Black Dress was a breeze. I didn’t have to bury myself in the closet to mix and match or get frustrated over not finding the right kind of shoes to go with it. My holiday look was already (almost) complete the moment I slipped into it. All I had to do was take out my favorite knee-high heeled boots and voila! I was festivities-ready. 

The final and the most necessary last touch to my holiday look was my black Chanel bag. It’s a quintessential flip bag with a quilted design all over and a leather and chain-link strap. It perfectly pulled together my whole look without the need of any other accessories.

I can understand the urge to dress up a little extra for the holiday season! After all, it’s not every day you get an excuse to go all out but take it from me, a simple white holiday dress will work wonders! The right dress with the perfect cut is all you really need to brighten up your day and make holiday festivities extra special.

I went with a gorgeous maxi dress as it offers the perfect balance of warmth and flow. I decided to complement it with a red bag to bring contrast and pay homage to the holiday season’s vibrant colors. White truly captures my presence and radiates a powerful aura. I would like to believe that it invites positivity and cultivates perfection. White also makes a strong feminine fashion statement for confident women. Pairing white with a red bag was a conscious decision to welcome in some happy energy. Red also carries strong symbolic value for me and helps incorporate love and joy into my life.

This knit top and flowing skirt pair-up gave me a form-fitting dress that hugs my waist but flares up below it. Fit and flare dresses are universally flattering and are a comfortable reprieve from the demands of high-end fashion. Someone once told me that to look good, you must be prepared to sacrifice a little comfort, in fact, they insisted on a little pain being worth the effort. My holiday dress is my answer to them – a dress that pairs comfort and fashion seamlessly together.
