It’s the time of the year when bold colors and patterns dominate our wardrobes. Think chevron, ikat, trellis, and the classic argyle pattern on warm browns, navy blues, and of course, the mighty black. This Khaite argyle sweater is truly one of a kind from the incredible fabric to the bold pattern.

This winter, I vowed to experiment with different patterns and argyle was the first on my list. I had been eyeing this snuggly Siro Sweater from Khaite for a while and got the perfect chance to bag it on sale. I admit that it comes with a slightly hefty price tag but this uniquely feminine brand is worth every cent. Khaite specializes in simple but sophisticated cuts and knitwear that feels so inherently luxurious that celebs are now a fan of the brand. 

But I waited for the sale and I recommend that you do too. The Khaite argyle sweater features a striking and expansively scaled argyle pattern in black and ivory. The crew neck complements its straight structure. It’s bouclé knit with 53% silk and 47% cashmere so you can imagine how ridiculously soft, snuggly, and comfy it is. The cuffs and hem are finished with fisherman’s-rib-stitched trim giving it a clean look. I’ve always loved intarsia-knit sweaters and pullovers because that’s what makes them not boring. The good news is that Khaite has a nice variety of intarsia-knitted (patterned) sweaters and cardigans. Plus, an ongoing sale. So, the time is now to get your hands on these beauties.  

I paired it with leather leggings to make things even more interesting. Because if you’re not going with layering, the next best thing is combining textures. Knitwear + leather is a combination for girls who want a little bit of everything. I call it the best of both worlds. It’s cozy and edgy. Sweet and savage. Nothing against jeans but leather pants are my new best friend. They would be yours too especially when you’re wearing a chunky, laid-back sweater. Sleek and smart leather pants would provide a sartorial balance.

I finished the look with black boots that complemented the leather pants. A pair of classic black pumps would also look great with the outfit but I wanted to feel comfy (and cool). So, overall it turned out to be a cute and casual winter outfit that’s perfect to wear to movies, lunches, and girls’ day out. 

The bag is my forever favorite Chanel flap bag with gold hardware. Just the right amount of bling to uplift the outfit.

The sweetheart neckline has been around for centuries. Some believe it first appeared in the 18th-century French couture while others trace it way back to the 15th-century court of Isabella of Spain. No matter when it originated, the sweetheart neckline has been a favorite of designers and fashionistas alike. 

Sweetheart neckline gets its name from the fact that it’s shaped like the top of a heart. It’s a romantic and flattering shape that accentuates the decolletage and shows off collar bone. You might have spotted it on a lot of wedding dresses. If you compare, wedding gowns with sweetheart necklines look particularly majestic and incredibly elegant. That’s because of the neckline’s features-enhancing power. 

Tops with sweetheart necklines are also getting popular. This sweetheart top I have styled today is a beautiful dupe of Khaite’s The Maddy Top. To my delight, it looks exactly like the original with its ribbed-knit fabric, slim fit, pull-on style, and that romantic sweetheart neckline. But why didn’t I just get the original? Well, because dishing out $1080 on a top didn’t make a lot of sense to me. As I’m sure most of you would agree. If there’s anything I’d be happy to spend $1000s on, it’s handbags because they truly give you unmatched quality and can even be passed down as heirlooms. 

Even as a dupe, this sweetheart top is exceptionally comfortable. The long sleeves complement the neckline and add effortless elegance to the top. The cuffs go a little beyond the wrists which I find cute. To allow the sweetheart neckline works its magic, I had my hair in a sophisticated updo. With all the hair out of the way, the neckline really did highlight my collarbone. 

I paired the top with black pants and slipped into a pair of black boots to create that black on black look. Everything turned out to be cute and romantic with a little dash of edgy (thanks to the boots). There was just one thing left. The integral part of every outfit. The one accessory that every look is incomplete without. You guessed it. The Chanel black denim bag felt like the perfect bag to go with this outfit. It’s a classic single flap bag made out of quilted denim and features a silver chain link and leather straps.

Summer comes with the promise of pool parties, beach days, and all the fun activities that get our adrenaline going. While we take our sundresses and skirts out to welcome the season, we are greeted with that not so great summer souvenir. AKA sweat, sweat, and more sweat. On one of those sticky summer days, I have to let go of my chic dressy outfits. But surviving through the humid weather doesn’t have to mean sacrificing style. And so, this blog is all about dressing smartly. In my case, with this racerback tank top.

On one such 90-degree summer day, we planned a little picnic and taking our dogs out to the park. Some might take a raincheck, but I refuse to let a little extra hotness and humidity dampen my mood. So I took this racerback tank top out of my collection of warm weather essentials and got ready for the day. I got this bright blue top for only $10 and found myself relying on it every now and then. The selection changes from year to year but I find that I’m always able to find something similar. Amazon and H&M always have some great affordable options. 

Tank tops, t-shirts, or camis, whatever I add to my summer wardrobe, one thing that I always pay attention to is the fabric. Instead of polyester, nylon, and other synthetic materials, go for cotton or linen. Both of which are incredibly soft, lightweight, and breathable. This racerback tank top got me through some of the hottest days this summer, thanks to its cotton material and relaxed fit. The pop of color gives me an extra dose of pizzazz.

Another reason I gravitate towards tank tops is that they’re super easy to style. You could wear it with wide-legged pants, ripped jeans, or even skirts and still rock it. I put on a pair of high-waisted denim jeans because I was going for a kind of one-tone outfit. I tucked my top in and voila! An effortlessly stylish outfit in just a few minutes. I usually finish off the look with sandals or sneakers, depending on my mood. A delicate accessory or two is optional. But if you want a little splash of glamor, adding a couple of stacked chains or a necklace is a good idea.

Regardless of recent trends, skinny jeans have been my go-to option since forever and always will be. While I love their on-the-go convenience and all the cute looks they help me create, some days I just want my inner rebel to have some fun. That’s when leather pants make an appearance. Edgy and enormously sexy, leather pants are synonymous with rock icons and biker gangs. They exude the kind of strength and self-confidence that hardly comes with anything else. They scream ‘don’t mess with me’ without you making much effort and that’s exactly the look I wanted this particular day. I got these black leather pants from the brand Deadwood a while back and just can’t have enough of them.

If you follow my Instagram page, you must have spotted me style them with a striking red top as well. This time though, I wanted an edgier look injected with a little wild spirit. For that, I went with a collared half-zip sweater from Chicwish. The collar gave me that ‘ready for anything’ look that I absolutely adored. The sweater was loosely fitted but incredibly cozy and allowed me to have a mix of textures – wool with leather.

Now, coming towards our trophy piece, I cannot sing enough praises of the Deadwood leather pants. If you are an advocate of sustainable fashion, this brand is perfect for you. Their products come from recycled vintage clothing and their objective is to make the leather industry more waste efficient. That’s the sort of vision I can get behind. Soon as I was introduced to the brand, I couldn’t wait to try out their pants. To be honest I was a bit worried about the quality as it says they use recycled leather. Recycled leather can consist of rejected skins. I ordered a pair of $1,000 leather pants and these are the same time and these were actually way better quality.  I did have to go up one size in the pants through. 

The straight-leg design of these black leather pants is impeccable, and the quality top-notch. The high-waisted style takes you back to the ‘70s rock n roll and punk royalty. Despite appearing skin-tight, they are oh-so-comfortable and a pleasure to walk in. The leather is breathable and keeps you super cozy in the chilly weather. It’s water-resistant and windproof, so you know the cold’s got nothing on it. The buttery-soft smartness of these leather trousers makes me look sleek and sexy. What I love the most is that the styling options are limitless. You can wear them with an oversized sweater for a casual look or a silk blouse for a romantic night out. Whatever you choose, the result will be statement-worthy, I promise.

When you are going for leather pants, it’s best to keep the accessories minimal. This ensures that your pants get the attention they deserve. I slipped into a pair of black heels to match the pants and threw on a cute Chanel Mini Pearl wallet on chain to match the sweater. It’s super easy to carry and comes with an oversized pearl strap that’s dreamily heart-melting.

For most of us, winter is a sweet story of cool coats and warm colors. But when you have exhausted all the cool outfit options, it’s time to take out the big gun – an all-black outfit. Modest yet majestic, black always has your back. It’s powerful with an air of mystery to it. Slip into an all-black outfit and you are suddenly the coolest person in the room.

But how to style an everyday all-black look that is still casual? Allow me to help.

I started mine with a casual black turtleneck top that everyone always has in their wardrobe. This is the best one I have found because it actually keeps you warm! To make my look even cooler, I paired the top with leather leggings. This gave me a super slimming look which I loved. Another reason to love an all-black outfit is that it’s surprisingly easy to whip up. A little touch here, a little texture there and you instantly look like a boss.

No winter outfit is complete without a pair of trendy boots. For this look, I took out my Chanel combat boots – the trendiest footwear of 2020 (still relevant in 2021). Slipping into them toughened up my already cool outfit and added a forward edge. Their counter-culture aesthetic is what I love the most. They turn you from hot to the hottest real quick.

To add the perfect dash of elegance to my very ‘it’ look, I grabbed my black hat. Now, if I were looking at myself coming down the street, I’d be quite intrigued by this all-black look. So would anyone else if you go for it.

If this ensemble, especially with the combat boots, is too gothic for you, you can soften it up with a warm scarf or cape in earthy tones. I simply wanted to have a gentle contrast (and some warmth), so I went for this exquisite Louis Vuitton Logomania scarf in pearl grey color. It’s made with the warmest wool and softest silk and features giant versions of the iconic LV Monogram pattern. This was a look different than those that I usually go for. It’s easy and edgy. It makes you look sharp and slender. If you’re ever feeling liek youre in a fashion slump,  just start with a simple all black look and you can easily transform this look with colorful accessories like a scarf or statements like the hat.

Fall is probably the only season that offers the most versatile dressing options. You can be cute in a fuzzy sweater or put your boss mode on in a classic trench coat. Among the sea of possibilities, something that never goes out of style for the season is leopard print and leather jackets. Two things that I kept my eyes peeled for to create a killer look.  

First becoming popular back in the 1960s, animal print is still a roaring trend. It’s attractive, adventurous, and exciting. There’s just something about it that makes you feel powerful and profoundly confident. Pair it with a leather jacket and you will feel invincible. That’s how I felt in this leopard bodysuit and black leather jacket.

If you know anything about me, my love affair with neutrals is too deep to make room for the other side of the palette. However, I do like going bold once in a while. I got this leopard bodysuit not too long ago and already had in mind the look I wanted to create. It’s a gorgeous cami-style bodysuit fashioned from charmeuse silk and every fashion connoisseur knows that leopard print on silky fabric is double the sensuality. To top it all off, it also features black lace on the neckline taking the oomph up a notch. I love the fact that it’s supremely comfortable and feels incredibly soft against the skin.

I paired the leopard bodysuit with split hem pants since it felt like a match made in heaven. While the bodysuit lends a rather sexy vibe, the pants give off a retro-chic appeal. They are half cotton, half polyester and stretchy enough to not uncomfortably rub into thighs. With a flattering high-rise waist, their slimming silhouette made me look even taller. Also, they have a side zip closure for easy wear. Besides, no better color than black to go with animal print.

After getting most of it together, it was time to add a little edge to the whole look. I threw on the leather jacket and felt like I was ready to take on the world. Lastly, I reached out for my black Chanel flap bag that went perfectly with my outfit. It’s my favorite among my Chanel collection and has the quilting all over.

What’s a good outfit without a classic pair of pumps? I always have a black pair right where I can see it on my shoe rack because they’re versatile, timeless, and can be styled with so many outfits.

Summer for me translates to flowy and feminine sundresses and skirts that bring out my girly side. But some days you want casual summer style to take a backseat and put your boss mode on. And nothing screams ‘boss’ more than Balmain. This decadent double-breasted Balmain blazer caught my attention the moment I laid my eyes on it. I had been looking for something sleek and smart to spruce up my wardrobe. Something that strikes a perfect balance between stylish and sophisticated. Something that gives off a professional look and leaves a powerful impact. And I finally found a blazer that fits the bill.

Let’s start with the color. Now, Balmain has a wide range of jackets and blazers that instantly give you that ‘I mean business’ look. From houndstooth to sequined, different styles are available in different colors. But I went for white because of the effortless elegance and softness it offers. The best part about white is that it can be dressed down or up with the right accessories. When I slipped this Balmain blazer on, I could feel it giving me that extra shot of confidence while smartening me up. The structured shoulder deliver a very formal and regal appearance. Whereas embossed silver-tone buttons on front and underside of sleeves add a special spark.

I paired it up with deep blue denim jeans to create a well-balanced and relaxed combination that still looks classy. The contrasting jeans allowed my Balmain blazer to shine brighter and steal the most spotlight. To complete the look, I stepped into a pair of gorgeous pumps that matched my blazer.

And lastly, how can we forget the lifelong companions of every woman – handbags. For mine, I chose the Chanel Punk Reissue Bag which honestly deserves a blog post of its own. This white beauty is a truly treasured piece in my wardrobe. The brushed gold-tone, silver-tone, and gunmetal CC logo at quilted cross-sections look wonderful. Its snap closure is easy to work with and chain-link and leather shoulder strap further adds to its beauty. Classy perfection would be an understatement to describe this bag.

So, this was my take on a semi-casual outfit with dressy elements. While the blazer highlighted my strength and confidence, the denim jeans embodied my laid-back friendly persona. It is undeniable that bodysuits are unbelievably sexy. However, if you’ve never worn one before, you may be stumped on which one is best for you. And I am no exception. In fact, I have been thinking about wearing one for a while now but just couldn’t pick one.

But I recently finally found the right one and this may very well be the beginning of a long affair with bodysuits. Needless to say, this black lace bodysuit is a thing of beauty.

It is all things edgy and sends off some serious chic boss vibes. Interestingly, it goes with a variety of bottoms. This gave me a lot of freedom to experiment with different textures and see how they go together.

Of all the mixed textures I tried out, this lace bodysuit and crisp clean pants combo was the best one. While the high waisted trousers exuded an irresistible professionalism, the lace sleeveless bodysuit gives the outfit a whimsical feminine touch. It’s the perfect combination of fun on the top and responsible at the bottom.

And if you’re looking for a more evening look, the removable straps on the bodysuit make it easy for you to convert it into a cute outfit for a night out with friends. And you know what? The padded cups offer all the support you need to get through the night without a wardrobe malfunction. Pretty neat, huh?

What can I say? This belted trousers and lace top look is quite versatile and solid. As such, I didn’t feel it needed much accessorizing. All I paired it with is a pair of black pumps and a cute black bag. This adds to the edginess of the outfit without distracting from it.

A horse ranch is where summer fun comes alive, especially for those of us with an equestrian spirit and a little adventure in our bones. Bobby’s Ranch in Massachusetts is particularly amazing for a good old time in the saddle. The trails are gorgeous. The horses are also gentle, friendly, and very well-trained. While this activity guarantees fun, you can’t have your outfit lodging in the bushes or your boots slipping through the stirrups. So, what to wear to a horse ranch?

I love dark, solid colors. But that wasn’t the only reason I went for an all-black outfit for my trip to Bobby’s Ranch. As you’d imagine, horseback riding means not only getting a little dirt on your boots but also your clothes. I chose black pants and a black off-the-shoulder top so that the dirt from the horse and the trail doesn’t show too much. It’s also important that the pair of pants you choose is stretchy and allows you to move around comfortably. Stretchy pants will also prevent chafing.

Another thing that I made sure while putting together my outfit for the ranch was to go for long pants. They protect you against the pesky bugs usually found on the trails. As you can notice, my pants were also comfortably snug. But why is that important? A snug fit ensures that your pants don’t ride up your calves which if happens is not quite flattering if you ask me and also puts you at a risk for insect bites.

So, if you are confused about what to wear to a horse ranch, it’s best to go for clothes that are darker in color, not too baggy, and preferably include long pants. As for the footwear, riding boots are absolutely important and I cannot stress this enough. They give you maximum security during horseback riding. Their short heel ensures that your foot stays nicely hooked in the stirrup and doesn’t slip through. The soles are also usually flat and smooth, so your boot doesn’t get stuck in case of a fall. I paired my outfit with comfy leather riding boots that went a little over my pants.

To complete my look, I went with a brown cross-body bag that held a few important things I needed to carry. A cross-body bag allows you to be hands-free as you fully focus on having fun. While my clothes were fit for a horseback riding adventure in terms of functionality, I’d like to think that my accessories represented my inner cowgirl spirit.

Also, don’t forget to double up on sunscreen. Last but not least, stash a few hair ties in your bag. Style is important but so is your sanity when your hair is sticking to your face in the summer heat. Luckily, I made all the right choices and had a pleasant experience riding the gentlest horse.

Who doesn’t love the ocean? Well, it surely isn’t me. I have always found it relaxing watching the waves gently and rhythmically hit the rocks as I sat and just basked in the sun. During these uncertain times, I have found myself more and more drawn to the peace that this place gives me.

 

So I decided to visit the rocky ocean and wear one of my cutest outdoorsy outfits. If there is one feeling that this outfit just gives, it is the thrill of adventure. I have always loved the high waisted shorts with a crop top look and was excited to create a version of my own. It’s not too revealing but gives a peep of stomach.

The denim shorts I wore were comfortable yet edgy; a quality I am always looking for in my outfits. The fact that they covered up to just below my thighs and had a distressed seam made them quite complementary to my silhouette. They are my favorite and most worn denim shorts. They fit a bit longer but aren’t so tight and restrictive.

On the other hand, the crop top seemed to be a contradiction of itself, both covering and revealing. Its V-neck made it less stuffy and made up for the fact that it had long sleeves. When put together with the denim shorts, it creates a balance that is hard to replicate. Ultimately, this top was just what I needed to shield from the ocean wind and sun while still being true to my fashionista core.

I made sure that both the denim shorts and crop top were made of light fabrics; no need to get sweaty and clammy when you’re supposed to be having a great time! To keep true to the badass vibe that this outfit undoubtedly exudes, I let my hair down and wore my favourite Ray-Ban Ericka sunglasses. For this pair I prefer to get sunglasses in a brown shade because they look less harsh on my fair skin.

The finishing touch was a pair of casual sandals that are a perfect fit for a day by the ocean. All things considered, this was a great look for a trip to watch the waves. This park is called Beavertail State park and is located in Rhode Island.
