Initially having stolen the spotlight in the ‘90s, cargo trousers are officially back. Their popularity stems from how they are functional and fashionable at the same time. And we all could all use the extra pockets, right? The military-inspired edge might also be one of the things that contributed to these trousers’ strong resurgence.

When it comes to cargo trousers, I love the paperbag style — high-waisted pants gathered at the waist with some fabric coming out above the cinched area. The shape resembles a tied paperbag, hence the name. The ones that I’ve styled today are going to be my summer staple. They have a relaxed, tapered leg for a comfortable fit and belted waist for a laidback luxe feel. 

This versatile performance pair can be styled in many ways. You can be cool with boots or classy with high heels. Throw on a blazer or tuck in a turtleneck. Wear it to work or vacation. It will always have you looking effortless. And the neutral color really gives you endless styling opportunities. 

I paired it with a white knit halter tank top from Chicwish. I love the ribbed knit fabric for my transitional pieces. Ribbed knit is comfortable enough for the warm afternoons and cozy enough for the cool evenings. It’s the best and my go-to fabric for summer. The tank top gives you a casual-cool look with its understated style. I tucked it in my paperbag trousers and I was good to go.

The beige and white outfit looks super fresh if you’re going for a laid-back vibe. I threw in the Chanel 19 Small Flap Bag in dark beige to complement the neutral look. This bag, as previously appeared on my feed, is one of my favorites. It gets its name from the year it was created in, 2019 and has been a sensation among celebs and fashion-lovers alike. The bag is made of goatskin and features larger quilting than some of other Chanel bags. While there is a top chain handle for a quick grab on the go, it does have a long strap for extra functionality. 

Neutrals really can never go out of fashion and neither can cargo trousers. Keep watching this space for more summer outfit inspirations.

When the leaves start turning the prettiest shades of gold, it’s my cue to take out ribbed knit cardigans and chunky sweaters. The sartorial choices go from breezy to cozy. But right when October arrives, the cute demands to be traded with spooky and edgy. And what’s spookier and edgier than an all-black outfit. I mean, I’m all for this power move anytime around the year. But all-black outfits get a whole different meaning in October.

This black jumpsuit is one of my favorite discounted steals this season and hands down the comfiest fall transitional outfit. The linen fabric may not be super cozy but it’s warm enough for the in-between weather. As for the aesthetic, I’m wholeheartedly in love with the overall cutting-edge vibe. Especially that knot on the bodice that allows for a little skin to show. The elastic cuffs give the puffy sleeves an even puffier look and I can’t say I don’t enjoy those. The hem is also done in cuff style with buttons on it.

The thing about linen is there’s no need to iron it because it’s going to inevitably wrinkle. But that’s the beauty of linen and the effortless look it exudes.

This black linen jumpsuit also gave me THE perfect opportunity to wear my new Prada wicker basket tote bag. After all, linen and wicker is a (sustainable) match made in heaven. We usually see wicker in its original tan color but Prada Wicker basket bag in black is a refreshing sight. A godsend for the spooky season. Dark witchy street style? Check and check.

The super structured (squared) look would tempt you to call it a top handle bag rather than a tote. But you can’t argue with Prada. The bag has a double handle and a cotton canvas lining. I love the little leather name tag that comes with a mirror. The zipper opens up to interior with two pockets and the main one has more than enough space for all your essentials. It has both a stylish and a rustic appeal. It will look as good on a date as it would on picnics, pumpkin patch visits, or ambient trips to the country side (already imagining it as my loyal companion to all these places). Can you tell I’m obsessed already?

A pair of comfy flats and I was ready to conquer the day and celebrate the October dark glam aesthetic.

What comes to your mind when you think of summer? Some might give you the obvious (and in my opinion, the pessimistic) answer. Heat and humidity. But if you ask a staunch nature lover like me, summer means beach days, resort retreats, double rainbows, and a chance to chase butterflies. Basically, a long, warm handshake with nature. But the thing that I look forward to the most each season is frolicking in flower fields. 

Think rolling carpets of bright sunflowers and neverending rows of colorful tulips, happily swaying under the golden sun. It’s magical to just think about these tiny patches of heaven on earth. 

My first stop this season was Van Lierop Park. It’s quite a recent addition to the city parks and a stunning one at that. You will find pathways lined with wildflowers, peaceful trails, views of Mount Rainier, and a field of gorgeous purple lupines stretching as far as the eye can see. There’s also a walking trail around the field itself that you can use while taking in the picturesque views. 

Van Lierop Park was actually formerly Van Lierop Bulb Farm. The city purchased the land to build something that everyone in the community can enjoy. With families, bikers, and other trail users already coming in flocks, suffice to say, the city plan was a success. 

The flowers are in full bloom in June so that’s the perfect time to visit. For Van Lierop Park, I wanted to wear something that makes me feel comfortable, lets me enjoy the gentle breeze AND helps me live that fairy tale moment among the flowers. This one-shoulder white dress from Chicwish checked all the boxes. It features an exaggerated bow on the single shoulder and a side slit at the hem. It’s comfy, elegant, and charming even with its simplistic beauty. 

Just like Van Lierop Park is the ideal location for your pre-wedding or bridal shower photoshoots, this dress is also perfect for such events. Plus, white truly stands out against the purple lupine field. So, your photos are bound to come out stunning. Dresses are an easy way to put together a whole look.

While Van Lierop Park will stay in my top favorites, I still have more flower fields and farms on the list to visit this summer. Many more walks among the blooms, basking in nature’s glory.

Another day, another flower field. I don’t know about you. But for me, visiting flower farms and bathing in all the beauty is peak summer activity. Especially after being confined in our homes for so long, immersing in nature, witnessing vibrant fresh blooms, and feeling the breeze while you do that can be really cathartic. 

This season, I have been on a mission to discover flower destinations around me. And in my quest, I stumbled upon the beautiful Crescent Valley Lavender Farm that’s actually just opened up this year. The little gem is tucked away in a quiet corner in Gig Harbor, Washington State. Thrilled would be an understatement of what I feel to have this beauty so close to home. 

Crescent Valley Lavender Farm was established by a lovely couple Glenn and Diana Liebner and their daughter in 2015. You know how they say — beauty becomes beautiful when it’s shared with others. So now in 2021, the kind owners decided to open the farm to the public, and I for one couldn’t be happier. June is when lavender is in full bloom and that’s when the grand opening was held.  

Sadly, as of August 1st, 2021, the farm has been closed for the season. But when you pay a visit next season, 7 different varieties of lavender will be waiting for you. From Royal Velvet to White lavender, the farm is filled with rows of refreshing goodness. A burst of white, lilac, and violet-blues with a little gazebo in the middle. Some varieties such as Grosso are used to extract oils that we all love so much. Some such as Royal Velvet can be used for culinary purposes. While others like Folgate and Melissa are richer in color, sweetly fragrant, and used in potpourris after drying.

The best part about Crescent Valley Lavender Farm is that they also offer you-cuts. You get to pick your own lavender that you could use to make bouquets, wreaths, or whatever you want. The farm provides you with scissors and a basket to give you that proper harvesting feel.

They have a gift shop at the farm too. So along with your own lavender clippings, you also have the option of bringing home lavender essential oils, bath bombs, lip balms, lotions, scrubs, and other personal care products. And as you can imagine, they smell like heaven. The only thing you have to be careful about when visiting the farm is buying the parking ticket in advance since they have limited parking space. 

For my visit, nothing seemed more fitting than a lilac maxi dress. It’s made of the softest, breathable material and features short ruffled sleeves. The backless design with a knot in the middle makes it even more interesting. To feed that farm-inspired look, I also carried a Pamela Munson Basket Petite Isla Bahia Bag. I love the woven corn husk material — a nod to sustainable fashion. The white leather handle and a knot on the front offers a nice contrast. The bag opens up to a fabric-lined interior which is roomy enough to store all your essentials, including those lavender clippings 🙂

Fall is my favorite season and I’m pretty sure everyone else’s too. The season when the world turns the prettiest shade of gold and the coffee tastes nicer than the usual. 

Fall brings the most elegant outfit choices too and nobody can deny that. Miniskirts and shorts crawl to the back of the closet as classic cool-toned silks, plaids, and linens start making an appearance. In this wonderful interim between winter and summer, sleeker materials like light silks and knit tops are the route to take.

I’m known to whip out my silks the instant fall comes knocking and this season won’t be any different. This luminescent powder blue skirt slip skirt from Anine Bing is perfect for a casual day out with friends, meeting the kids’ teachers, or even a relaxed dinner date. The asymmetrical cut takes away the formality generally associated with skirts for a suave off-the-job Hollywood celebrity look. It screams that you’re down to party and not afraid of having some fun. 

The skirt is fitted around the waist but flares beautifully down the legs. I paired it with the Alaska Sculpt Knit spaghetti strap tank from Aritzia to create an outfit of beautiful ice blues perfect for the weather. (Nope, I wasn’t trying to look like Elsa). The fitted knit tank balances the flare and looseness of the skirt.  

The top and silk slip skirt both wrap around the curves elegantly and fit in well with the smart-chic vibe I was aiming for. While this look is more suave and unassuming, a pair of statement earrings unlike the small ones I’m wearing and higher heels make this the perfect fit for a party or a night out. 

For this outfit, I chose a pair of white, simple, slightly squared heels because that’s the best color that goes with ice blue. The delicate straps also do perfect justice to the elegance of this outfit. This look can get you through the colder months too. Just throw on a jacket or swap the tank top with a cozy turtleneck and you’re set. 

Now all that’s left to do is sashay into the party while looking like the off-duty celebrity that we all should always feel like!

The sight of flowers makes everyone smile. Think tulip fields of the Netherlands or lavender fields of France. Who would possibly not feel happy surrounded by such vibrancy and warmth? When you can’t go to the said flower fields, you can certainly bring the beauty to you in the form of floral prints. Your biggest cue? The weather. 

When the temperature rises, fresh and flamboyant florals are always a sight for sore eyes. Floral tops, floral dresses, floral skirts. Give me everything floral and I’ll be happy as a clam. A beautiful addition to the floral section of my summer wardrobe is this floral top from Chicwish that I’ve styled today. 

I’ve got a thing for wrap tops if you haven’t noticed. Not so long ago I styled a head-turning navy silk wrap top that collected so many compliments. Another bow wrap top has also been my bff through the warmer days. So when I saw my favorite style and my favorite pattern together in the same piece, I had to get it. 

This lovely wrap top features lavender and blue floral print. If you look closely, sometimes the lavender is dominant and other times the blue pops up. The print is incredibly tame and tasteful. It’s subtle and subdued without overpowering your aesthetic. While I also do appreciate big and bold floral sometimes, I can relate much better to the soothing beauty of the soft ones. 

The floral top has a flowy design with a self-tie ribbon at the waist which is honestly super cute. The V neckline has ruffle trimming and the long sleeves have elastic cuffs for an elegant look. It also has this adorable eyelet detailing lending it a vintage lacey vibe. It’s made out of semi-sheer fabric but it does come lined so you don’t have to worry about wearing a cami. To make things a little extra comfy, there’s a hidden side zip closure too. 

Since the top had soft colors, I had to pair it with white pants to create that ‘soft girl aesthetic’. Slipped into a pair of white heels and finished the whole look with the beige Chanel flap bag. And there I had it. A refreshing outfit to liven up the day.

Summer is upon us. After months and months of getting imprisoned in our own homes, we’re finally planning holidays, beach escapes, and poolside parties. The sun is out and so are the summer dresses aimed at beating the heat. Summer staples like breezy sundresses and short skirts will be making appearances in abundance but there are many other cute styles that could get you through the warm-weather in style. 

One of them is rompers. I know, I know. A black romper is not the first thing that comes to mind when you think about summer outfits. But if you’re aiming to look cool and effortless, a romper will pleasantly surprise you. Plus when you have all those picnics and mojitos waiting for you, who’s got the time to put together multiple-piece outfits? Throw on a romper and you’re ready to roll.

For my day out, I went with this black romper made of 100% linen. Even though the color is black, the 100% linen material makes it super breathable and even cooling. The romper features two flap pockets on the chest and a regular one on each side. You may not get to use the front ones but it’s reassuring, even joyful to know your dress has so many pockets. The waist-cinching tie lets you have that smart and sleek look. It has a band collar and delicate cap sleeves which bring a dressed up casual feel to it. All in all, I’ll choose this comfy romper over other redundant styles any day. 

I paired this piece with Alexandre Birman Clarita Mixed Jelly Flat Sandals. You can pair it with sneakers or wedges too but I found these sandals much more comfier and appropriate to the resort-style look I was aiming for. If you have been following me for a while, you’d know that Alexandre Birman is my one of my go-to for comfy shoes. 

These cute sandals feature a single T-bar strap and a tiny bow detailing on the crossover strap at mid-vamp. The jelly lining on the flat rubber sole is super smooth but doesn’t let your feet slip. The buckle-fastening ankle closure might be tedious for some but I don’t mind it. I can already see myself getting their money’s worth throughout the season.

I also added a fun accessory to this look – a beachy fedora hat made of seagrass. The hat has frayed edges and lets a little sunlight in on the sides which could help you produce some pretty cool photos too. 

Now all I need to find is a resort nestled in a tropical paradise and have my fill of summer fun. I can’t wait to style more warm-weather staples for you.

If you thought that leather is only reserved for the winters, think again. You can totally rock this luxurious fabric during the warmer months with the right styling. 

You must be thinking 80 degrees out and fabric like leather? Not a match made in heaven. But you could make it work if that leather is in summer-friendly form just like these shorts that I happily and conveniently carried on a warm day. The key to wearing leather in summer is having it cover less area and pairing it with light colors that won’t absorb heat. That’s why I went with these super comfortable black leather shorts and a white off-shoulder ruffle top.

I am a long-standing leather lover. Especially when it comes to bottoms. Leather pants. Leather skirts. Leather shorts. I love them all. I love having fun with this fabric synonymous with strength and self-confidence. These genuine leather shorts are perfect for wearing even when the temperature is on the higher side. 

Since they are genuine leather shorts, they are slightly on the pricier side. If you want the cool rebellious look without breaking the bank, you can always go for faux leather. In stark contrast to my much-loved leather pants, these leather shorts have quite a relaxed fit and don’t cling to my thighs. This allows my skin to breathe and also makes moving around easy. Besides, would you look at how ridiculously cool they are? Plus, they’ve got pockets!! Leather and pockets. These two features were enough for me to grab these shorts ASAP. 

I paired them with this lovely white off-shoulder top with ruffles. This didn’t just create a nice black and white contrast but also a perfect balance between dark and light colors. Black sure absorbs heat but the white doesn’t, helping me stay cool. The layered ruffles of the top are also super cute and so are the elastic cuffs on slightly puffed sleeves. 

To give this outfit its cherry on top, I went with a Chanel Pearl Boy Bag. I love Chanel flap bags but this one is my top favorite Chanel bag. It’s super chic and made out of calfskin leather in black. What I love the most about it is the beautiful pearl beads arranged in a chevron pattern on the front flap. It also features a silver CC push lock and silver chain-link shoulder strap. You will definitely see it making more appearances on my blog.

Neutrals and bodycon dresses are a match made in heaven. Made popular by Kim Kardashian, bodycon dresses have gained the status of a wardrobe staple. If you aim to look glam, accentuate your curves, or make your beau fall in love with you all over again, a bodycon dress will do the trick. Even better if it’s in a neutral color. Because that gives you a nice canvas to build your look on. Add contrasting accessories and you’ll instantly feel like a diva. A ribbed knit midi dress is easy to style and can be the focus piece or accessorized around.

That’s exactly how this ribbed-knit midi bodycon dress made me feel. I got this sleek midi dress in nude color and I have to say it’s the perfect dress for warm summer evenings. Before you argue that ribbed knit is not a fabric you would want to wear in summer, let me clear that out first.    

Ribbed knit is made out of cotton and ribbing is the horizontal or vertical pattern that the cotton is knitted in. It actually has a really soft texture and excellent breathability. Plus, this midi dress is a light-knit piece and feels perfectly comfy in the warmer weather. It’s also a racerback dress so the design allows you to stay cool. I also felt that this shade of nude really complemented my complexion. Brought out my eyes and made me look radiant. 

For the shoes, I went with Just Nothing transparent heels by Christian Louboutin. Transparent heels, as you know, have been making it big on the fashion scene for the past few seasons. Why? They are super easy to style and go with almost any outfit. These modern-day versions of Cinderella’s glass slippers let you show off your fresh pedi while assuming an understated profile.  

Christian Louboutin’s Just Nothing transparent heels reflect a minimalist style but still look sleek and sophisticated with their white soles, signature red bottom, and 85mm heels. The two transparent straps keep your foot comfy and offer a firmness in your stride.

Now this turned out to be the look I am proud of. It’s the perfect summer day look that’s both sophisticated and sizzling. The sleek silhouette of the ribbed knit midi dress made me look taller and (not to exaggerate) runway-ready. 

For the bag, I wouldn’t have gone for anything other than the Chanel 19 flap bag in beige. The diamond-quilted lambskin leather is just exquisite and the beautiful Chanel CC monogram on the flap adds to its beauty. Its gold chain handle and the leather-threaded gradient gold to ruthenium chain shoulder strap offered the perfect amount of bling to this neutral outfit.

Summer comes with the promise of pool parties, beach days, and all the fun activities that get our adrenaline going. While we take our sundresses and skirts out to welcome the season, we are greeted with that not so great summer souvenir. AKA sweat, sweat, and more sweat. On one of those sticky summer days, I have to let go of my chic dressy outfits. But surviving through the humid weather doesn’t have to mean sacrificing style. And so, this blog is all about dressing smartly. In my case, with this racerback tank top.

On one such 90-degree summer day, we planned a little picnic and taking our dogs out to the park. Some might take a raincheck, but I refuse to let a little extra hotness and humidity dampen my mood. So I took this racerback tank top out of my collection of warm weather essentials and got ready for the day. I got this bright blue top for only $10 and found myself relying on it every now and then. The selection changes from year to year but I find that I’m always able to find something similar. Amazon and H&M always have some great affordable options. 

Tank tops, t-shirts, or camis, whatever I add to my summer wardrobe, one thing that I always pay attention to is the fabric. Instead of polyester, nylon, and other synthetic materials, go for cotton or linen. Both of which are incredibly soft, lightweight, and breathable. This racerback tank top got me through some of the hottest days this summer, thanks to its cotton material and relaxed fit. The pop of color gives me an extra dose of pizzazz.

Another reason I gravitate towards tank tops is that they’re super easy to style. You could wear it with wide-legged pants, ripped jeans, or even skirts and still rock it. I put on a pair of high-waisted denim jeans because I was going for a kind of one-tone outfit. I tucked my top in and voila! An effortlessly stylish outfit in just a few minutes. I usually finish off the look with sandals or sneakers, depending on my mood. A delicate accessory or two is optional.
