Olive Silk Shirt Dress with the Isabel Marant Duerto Boots

The moment leaves start turning golden, out come the fall colors. The joyful shades of yellows and oranges, the classic maroons, the dreamy blues, and the warm browns. The color palette is stunning and striking. The runways are a joy to watch. But one color that I feel is left under-appreciated and under-used is olive green. It’s such a refreshing and calming color. Especially if you feel overwhelmed with deeper colors, olive green is a perfect choice. Did you know it also symbolizes peace and harmony? All the more reason to wear it. 

Olive green is one of my favorite colors for fall (these olive cargo pants have made it to my feed a number of times). So, this season, I had to upgrade my collection with more of this refreshing color. I have been gravitating towards button-down dresses for a while and this olive silk shirt dress from Intermix caught my eye right away. It’s a beautiful silk button-down mini dress with a waist-tie for a cinched-in silhouette. The front flap pockets give you that signature safari vibe. The fabric feels super soft and comfy. My favorite thing about this dress is how effortlessly it can be styled. Button it up, pair it with boots and you’re ready to go. An olive silk shirt dress is surprisingly versatile and I’ve worn it in the summer as well with nude colored sandals.

My choice of footwear was the Isabel Marant Duerto Boots. These are 100% suede boots with a leather lining so naturally, they’re incredibly warm and cozy. The western-style paneling has that rodeo appeal that every country girl would love. The mid-calf height, pointed heel, and block heel further adds to this pair’s pizzazz. This is, however, not my first purchase from the designer brand. Isabel Marant is a name that I have always trusted. You can spend your money with your eyes closed and know what you’re getting is going to be amazing and last long. I also have these gorgeous Denvee Boots from Isabel Marant that I absolutely love. 

The LV Palm Springs mini backpack felt like the perfect piece to finish the look with. These little retro rucksacks first came out in the ‘90s and are now trending once again. The mini backpack is practical, durable, easy to carry, and totally statement-making. My favorite aspect is the versatility. You can either wear it cross-body by adjusting the straps or remove the straps and carry it by the top handle. I prefer the latter. It may look small but you’d be surprised how much you can fit inside it.

It’s the time of the year when bold colors and patterns dominate our wardrobes. Think chevron, ikat, trellis, and the classic argyle pattern on warm browns, navy blues, and of course, the mighty black. This Khaite argyle sweater is truly one of a kind from the incredible fabric to the bold pattern.

This winter, I vowed to experiment with different patterns and argyle was the first on my list. I had been eyeing this snuggly Siro Sweater from Khaite for a while and got the perfect chance to bag it on sale. I admit that it comes with a slightly hefty price tag but this uniquely feminine brand is worth every cent. Khaite specializes in simple but sophisticated cuts and knitwear that feels so inherently luxurious that celebs are now a fan of the brand. 

But I waited for the sale and I recommend that you do too. The Khaite argyle sweater features a striking and expansively scaled argyle pattern in black and ivory. The crew neck complements its straight structure. It’s bouclé knit with 53% silk and 47% cashmere so you can imagine how ridiculously soft, snuggly, and comfy it is. The cuffs and hem are finished with fisherman’s-rib-stitched trim giving it a clean look. I’ve always loved intarsia-knit sweaters and pullovers because that’s what makes them not boring. The good news is that Khaite has a nice variety of intarsia-knitted (patterned) sweaters and cardigans. Plus, an ongoing sale. So, the time is now to get your hands on these beauties.  

I paired it with leather leggings to make things even more interesting. Because if you’re not going with layering, the next best thing is combining textures. Knitwear + leather is a combination for girls who want a little bit of everything. I call it the best of both worlds. It’s cozy and edgy. Sweet and savage. Nothing against jeans but leather pants are my new best friend. They would be yours too especially when you’re wearing a chunky, laid-back sweater. Sleek and smart leather pants would provide a sartorial balance.

I finished the look with black boots that complemented the leather pants. A pair of classic black pumps would also look great with the outfit but I wanted to feel comfy (and cool). So, overall it turned out to be a cute and casual winter outfit that’s perfect to wear to movies, lunches, and girls’ day out. 

The bag is my forever favorite Chanel flap bag with gold hardware. Just the right amount of bling to uplift the outfit.

Cable Knit Sweater for Fall

Sweaters, scarves, earthy tones, freshly-brewed coffee, and the sound of leaves crunching under your feet. But most importantly sweaters. The simple pleasures of fall. 

Slim-fit, oversized, bat-sleeved, woolen, or ribbed-knitted. No matter the style, sweaters, in my books, are the best piece of clothing to ever exist. With its sweet warmth and feel-good fluffy look, a good sweater has the power of making even the coldest person look like a big softie. They just instantly make you feel snuggled up. Sweaters are adorable and it’s officially sweater weather here in Washington State. Since it doesn’t get extremely cold here I usually get away with with wearing a sweater and a waterproof layer over top.

I found what I was looking for in this Isabel Marant Cable Knit Sweater. This gorgeous beige sweater swaddles you in plush comfort and makes you feel like everything’s right in the world. I mean, it’s wool. Unmatched comfort and warmth are a given. The chunky cable-knit looks and feel perfectly cozy. The puff sleeves give it kind of a voluminous silhouette. So, balancing that flair with a slim-fit pants will be a good idea. 

The neutral color makes this cable knit sweater a perfectly adaptable wardrobe staple. Pair it with a light color or a dark color, it will look great with anything. 

My choice for the pants was a beige slim-fit pair and there I had a very laid-back yet elegant all-beige neutral look. Fall fashion trends for 2021 say that yellow, orange, and pink are dominating but my love for neutrals doesn’t care. And I’d advise you the same. Do what you love and what makes you feel confident. Neutrals make me happy and I won’t be parting ways with them anytime soon. 

I even went with matching round-toe Vince Boots that are actually incredible stylish. They are 100% suede boots with chunky rubber soles that make you feel a little badass. Front lace-up and side zip fastening further add to their edgy personality. They are super comfy and you could walk like many many miles under the trees over crunchy fallen leaves and not feel like your feet are giving up. 

Now, the last but the most important thing my all-beige outfit needed was a pop of color. I went with the ultimate signature fall color for the bag: rich brown that encompassed the true feeling of fall. It looked stunning to say the least and the whole look was instantly elevated.

The sweetheart neckline has been around for centuries. Some believe it first appeared in the 18th-century French couture while others trace it way back to the 15th-century court of Isabella of Spain. No matter when it originated, the sweetheart neckline has been a favorite of designers and fashionistas alike. 

Sweetheart neckline gets its name from the fact that it’s shaped like the top of a heart. It’s a romantic and flattering shape that accentuates the decolletage and shows off collar bone. You might have spotted it on a lot of wedding dresses. If you compare, wedding gowns with sweetheart necklines look particularly majestic and incredibly elegant. That’s because of the neckline’s features-enhancing power. 

Tops with sweetheart necklines are also getting popular. This sweetheart top I have styled today is a beautiful dupe of Khaite’s The Maddy Top. To my delight, it looks exactly like the original with its ribbed-knit fabric, slim fit, pull-on style, and that romantic sweetheart neckline. But why didn’t I just get the original? Well, because dishing out $1080 on a top didn’t make a lot of sense to me. As I’m sure most of you would agree. If there’s anything I’d be happy to spend $1000s on, it’s handbags because they truly give you unmatched quality and can even be passed down as heirlooms. 

Even as a dupe, this sweetheart top is exceptionally comfortable. The long sleeves complement the neckline and add effortless elegance to the top. The cuffs go a little beyond the wrists which I find cute. To allow the sweetheart neckline works its magic, I had my hair in a sophisticated updo. With all the hair out of the way, the neckline really did highlight my collarbone. 

I paired the top with black pants and slipped into a pair of black boots to create that black on black look. Everything turned out to be cute and romantic with a little dash of edgy (thanks to the boots). There was just one thing left. The integral part of every outfit. The one accessory that every look is incomplete without. You guessed it. The Chanel black denim bag felt like the perfect bag to go with this outfit. It’s a classic single flap bag made out of quilted denim and features a silver chain link and leather straps.

Sweaters are great, but you know what’s even greater? Sweater dresses. There’s something comforting and reassuring about having a one-piece wonder in your wardrobe for the busy winter days. Because we all know how time-consuming (sometimes frustrating) mixing and matching an outfit can be when you are on the go. Sweater dresses are the embodiment of ‘no pants, no worries’, and I will love them forever and always. Especially sweater dresses with boots.

They’ve been stealing the spotlight for quite some time, and I am OBSESSED with them. So naturally, my wardrobe saw sweater dresses more than anything this season. If you are wondering why so many? The answer is the same as to why we have so many jeans. The world of sweater dresses is versatile and wonderful. Some sweater dresses are ribbed knitted, while some are chunky turtlenecks. Some have a front slit to keep things interesting, while some almost reach the floor. Some are sleeveless, while some have cutout full sleeves. No matter the style, they all look gorgeous.

Among my many other proud sweater dress purchases, this tan colored one is my favorite. Bought from the brand Ann Taylor, it’s a beautiful ribbed knitted dress with a round neck and long puffy sleeves. Even with the head-to-toe simplicity that it offers, this dress has the oomph to fit any mood or occasion. With minimal accessories, it’s best for brunch. Add some statement earrings to the look and you’re ready for a sophisticated night out. The fabric is super soft and cozy. Despite being oversized, it looks incredibly cute on its own. But I added a belt cinch in the waist for a more polished look. It also has small slits on either side which I also like.

Sweater dresses look as gorgeous with heels as they do with boots. For this look, I chose tall black suede boots with heels (the best of both worlds). Tall boots keep the legs warm and look absolutely classy. Suede gives off a very matte and sophisticated look enhancing the sweater dress’ beauty. The black color also goes really well with the tan sweater dress.

I styled this cute look with Saint Laurent Cassandra Chain Bag. In other words, my latest obsession. It features an envelope-shaped flap highlighted with a stitched V line. The design is elegant and timeless complete with the iconic YSL logo crafted just below the flap. The bronze-metal double curb chain adds to the feminine touch, making it nothing short of a masterpiece. I have to say, this sweater dress with boots look turned out to be one of my top favorites this winter.

What’s more fun than florals? Cheetah print!!

Show me a girl that didn’t look good in cheetah print. No matter the occasion, a little cheetah print can take you from boring to bold. It’s quite easy to fall prey to the same outfit formula day in and day out. The same old jeans and top combination simply because it makes getting ready hassle-free. But have you noticed the style becoming so redundant that even the mirror screams for change? That’s where cheetah print comes in to switch things up.

This cheetah dress has a special place in my heart. Because if you look up close, the cheetah print is actually shaped like cute little hearts. Its playful print will bring out your wild side while still offering a sophisticated look. The long puff sleeves with broad cinched cuffs remind me of Victorian dresses and exude the same class. The ruffles at the hem are a cheerful addition to this gorgeous cheetah print mini dress. There’s also a printed waist tie for a gathered look. It’s an elegant day-to-night transition piece that’s surely going to turn heads.  

You are missing out if you are not investing in some cheetah dresses. Now, there are hundreds of different styles – from spaghetti strapped midis to bodycon dresses, but my personal favorite would always be long sleeved cheetah dresses. There’s something so charming about a long sleeved dress. You look incredibly polished without even trying. 

Contrary to what you might believe, styling a cheetah dress outfit is actually pretty easy. The dress itself will do most of the job for you. All you will need to do is choose footwear and accessories. I went for my Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots because if there is an equally glamorous contender against the cheetah print mini dress, it’s the high knee boots. While they are not as versatile as heels, they are definitely more stylish and sexy. They also help keep your legs warm to balance wearing a shorter dress. To finish the look, I went with Chanel flap bag in black and voila! Another killer cheetah dress outfit added to my credits.

Temperatures are slowly rising with coats and jackets seeing the bottom of the trunks (or just the back of the closet to be less dramatic). Soon cotton fabrics and floral prints will be reigning. Some linen and chiffon in between. But one fabric that we tend to forget is lace. Lace is not reserved only for wedding gowns and formal dresses. It sure has a sense of extravaganza associated with it but lace tops can easily blend in your summer wardrobe just like this black lace top that I’m proud of.

There was a time when lace was made by hand. A lot of hard work and tens of hours later, one collar or cuff piece was made. It truly was a labor of love and a rarity that only monarchs and the nobility could afford. After everything was automated, it became a favorite among designers. And now, it’s seen on most fashion runways, wedding dresses, and summer collections. For me, lace offers a chance to break from boring monochromatic looks and add some dimension and texture.

This black lace top has an open-knit design which alone is cool enough to make a statement. The long sleeves with broad cuffs give it a very sophisticated look. The v-neck balances the slight puff in the sleeves and the button detailing at the front add that dressy flavor to the top. It’s classic and timeless with a bit of Victorian-inspired flair. It’s basically your fool-proof ticket to looking absolutely phenomenal. The delicacy and mystique of this statement top are perfectly evened out with matching black jeans. But you would notice that despite being an all-black look, it’s not boring at all. The black lace top offers a pleasant texture and separation needed for monochromatic outfits.

Isabel Marant Denvee boots felt like the best choice to complete this look. Featuring pointed toes and Cuban heels, they turned my all-black outfit into a nice cocktail of classic and cool. They are made from 100% leather and have a comfortable slip-on style. I have always liked slip-on style vs zips and laces. Spare me the struggle, please! The black Chanel bag served as a cherry on top for this all-black look. Its golden chain strap with leather weave gives off the feel of fine jewelry which I didn’t need with this outfit.

Lace tops come in so many different designs and patterns. It’d be a shame to keep your wardrobe deprived of this beautiful feminine fabric. I plan on delving a little deeper into the realm of lace and buy more blouses to style for you. Keep watching this space until my next look with lace xx

White Sweater Dress with Long sleeves and turtleneck and boots

My winter wardrobe feels incomplete without cute sweater dresses. A perfect transitional piece for the chilly weather, they have that go-anywhere potential that no other dress can have. Whoever invented them was a pure genius. Sweater dress outfits simply eliminate the trouble of figuring out which pants to match. They let you be dressy without having to slip into a skin-tight getup. They are cute, cozy, and easily the comfiest sartorial options out there. Now, I have had many this season, but this white sweater dress is my absolute favorite. To say that “I’m obsessed” would be an understatement.

The first thing about this white sweater dress that caught my attention was its long statement sleeves. The puff at the shoulder turns it into a very classy head-turning piece. If you follow my page, you’d know I love my tops and dresses with elaborate and stylish sleeves. Bishop, bell, butterfly, I love them all. These puff sleeves get a little more love because they come with a turtleneck. That’s double the sophistication and double the treat for me. Turtlenecks exude strength and style while being modern and modest at the same time. Plus, you don’t need a scarf. What’s not to love?

The white sweater dress offers a form-fitting silhouette so I didn’t have to wear a belt to cinch in the waist. It is almost like a comfortably relaxed bodycon dress. You can still add a belt if you want to make your sweater dress outfit interesting. A belt could also serve as a contrasting accessory. 

Sweater dresses are mostly worn with knee-high boots. Since it was already considerably long, I paired my sweater dress with ankle boots. This also helped the dress to stand out and be more in focus. Lastly, I completed the look with the Saint Laurent Monogram Matelasse Shoulder Bag in cream color. It features a structured envelope shape and a chevron pattern all over. Its grained matelasse leather with golden hardware is simply elegant and went so well with the dress. Besides, white and cream? That’s a color combination made in heaven.

Chanel Combat Boots All black look for winter

For most of us, winter is a sweet story of cool coats and warm colors. But when you have exhausted all the cool outfit options, it’s time to take out the big gun – an all-black outfit. Modest yet majestic, black always has your back. It’s powerful with an air of mystery to it. Slip into an all-black outfit and you are suddenly the coolest person in the room.

But how to style an everyday all-black look that is still casual? Allow me to help.

I started mine with a casual black turtleneck top that everyone always has in their wardrobe. This is the best one I have found because it actually keeps you warm! To make my look even cooler, I paired the top with leather leggings. This gave me a super slimming look which I loved. Another reason to love an all-black outfit is that it’s surprisingly easy to whip up. A little touch here, a little texture there and you instantly look like a boss.

No winter outfit is complete without a pair of trendy boots. For this look, I took out my Chanel combat boots – the trendiest footwear of 2020 (still relevant in 2021). Slipping into them toughened up my already cool outfit and added a forward edge. Their counter-culture aesthetic is what I love the most. They turn you from hot to the hottest real quick.

To add the perfect dash of elegance to my very ‘it’ look, I grabbed my black hat. Now, if I were looking at myself coming down the street, I’d be quite intrigued by this all-black look. So would anyone else if you go for it.

If this ensemble, especially with the combat boots, is too gothic for you, you can soften it up with a warm scarf or cape in earthy tones. I simply wanted to have a gentle contrast (and some warmth), so I went for this exquisite Louis Vuitton Logomania scarf in pearl grey color. It’s made with the warmest wool and softest silk and features giant versions of the iconic LV Monogram pattern. This was a look different than those that I usually go for. It’s easy and edgy. It makes you look sharp and slender. If you’re ever feeling liek youre in a fashion slump,  just start with a simple all black look and you can easily transform this look with colorful accessories like a scarf or statements like the hat.

Cargo pants might not be the sexiest outfit option on your list, especially the baggy ones with huge pockets on them. But if you gave them a skinny jeans twist, they could make for some of the trendiest and smartest looks.

Cargo pants were originally designed for men in the military but soon after they were introduced in the mainstream fashion scene, their popularity spread like wildfire among women. They did disappear for some time but made a comeback with different styles and color range. Think slim-fitted cargo pants, harem cargo pants, cropped cargo pants and even denim cargo pants. They are now a must for the ultimate airport look or going out and about.

The best thing about this part-military, part-street-style look is that it can work for multiple occasions. A dinner date, a girls’ hang out, or even for the office. The secret is in how you style them.

While I have nothing against the baggy style, I personally gravitate towards outfits that make me look slim and sharp. When I spotted these cargo pants at American Eagle, I knew I had to get them. The style and the olive color are so lovely that my sister got a matching pair too.😀

Putting together an impressive ensemble with minimal effort is my gift to myself this year. Looking my very best is my way of silently communicating with the world and it’s an integral part of my personality. These slim-fitted cargo pants are snug and fit perfectly. They are the perfect contrast with my white turtleneck sweater that adds a certain pizzazz to the outfit. 

I completed the outfit with an impressive pair of brown suede boots. You may go for trainers, pumps, or even combat boots but for this look, I wanted to keep the style in line with the season and so opted for these smart boots. Lastly, for the bag, I picked up this trendy Bottega shoulder pouch in camel color. This voluminous bag created a perfect balance with my slim-fitted ensemble. It’s made with the softest Nappa leather and features a single compartment with a calf leather interior. 

Cargo pants make for a gorgeous everyday look that’s not too overwhelming neither too laid back. It’s on the perfect middle ground that gives you confidence and sass.
